was European Junior Champion in bodybuilding in the 80's
I remember 1987. That year I won my first bodybuilding competition Trophy The Muscle III, was 19, shortly after I decided to participate in the Junior Championship of Spain, held in Seville, and organized in an exemplary manner by the brothers Ruz. Without doubt, was one of the best sports experience I have ever experienced. At that time bodybuilding was something else. Competitors were not competing, I mean, we were partners, Comrades, friends, love of a sport, an art, combining many factors, symmetry, proportion, aesthetics, narrow waist and chiseled and, above all, friendship, admiration and respect for the athletes bodybuilders. In that tournament we were the locals ... just as I can remember two. One of them called him "Smurf." That was the name of Jesus Adsuar. And called him by his stature. I remember having a huge chest, was from another planet, every time I did the chest pose swept all his rivals, was impressive. There was no talk of anything else. "It looks like an aircraft carrier" I told Jose Cano, I accompanied during the championship. It was an aircraft carrier ... At that time Jesus Junior champion from Spain, European junior champion, was third in the International Spain / Andorra / Portugal and participated in the Senior European Championships 1988. Marked an epoch in English culture. Marked a time in the gym Francisco Yerro, gym, where he began, with only 15, his bodybuilding career in the hands of Paco del Yerro disappeared. And marked a time when everyone who knew him. They were great people, always willing to help their friends, noble fighter, funny and somewhat stubborn. That stubbornness was probably the cause of his death. A few weeks ago noticed a sore back, gave no importance, "is a contraction," he said. He had never been ill, was an oak, strong and healthy guy. Thought it would happen so he would not go to the doctor. But it was a contracture, was a heart attack. A stroke that has taken him forever.
Adsuar Jesus last year returned to competition, with 44, it did in the Masters tournament in Spain, where he placed third, shortly after it took victory in the championship Villarrubia, still had the chest that made him famous the 80's. He still had the mark of champions companion that mark, that mark of friendship, the mark of humanity that only the privileged have. Of course, this privilege was meeting him in 1987. We'll miss you "Smurf." Febus
